“There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise.” – Unknown

You’ve always said that becoming an entrepreneur was never part of your life plan. Whenever we watch Chicago P.D. or Law & Order SVU together you always say how you wanted to be a police officer -chasing down the crooks and proudly wearing that uniform. Although that plan didn’t pan out the way you’d hoped, I think the journey that got you to where you are now is truly remarkable and humbling.

Starting Line: 21 years old, part-time crew member at Little Caesars, minimum wage was $3.35, took on this second job to make a car payment.

Each time you share your story with me or give me advice based on your experiences I’m always amazed at how resilient you are. When the cards weren’t in your favor, you adapted. When life threw curveballs at you, you faced them with determination. Observing your demeanor, the way you carry yourself in the world, how you treat others and how you prioritize the wellbeing of those you care about has taught me so much.

In your presence I’ve learned empathy, true meaning of service and how to build personal connections with others. With your guidance I feel like I can conquer the world. I’m so thankful to have you in my life not only as a mother, but as a best friend and mentor.

You are the true definition of an underdog. Strong work ethic, passion, and a genuine desire to be better than you were before are your defining attributes.

3-6 years later – 28 years old, worked your way up to management position, training manager and then ultimately supervisor. Idea to become your own franchisee was born.

When we look at these before and after photos I notice that not much has changed. Your eyes still sparkle, your smile is still contagious and your commitment to harnessing your craft is clearly evident.

“It’s not where you start- it’s where you finish that counts.” -Zig Zaglar

Ma, I’m so proud of who you are. This blog was a way for me to commemorate your journey and inspire others that they too can create their dream life. Like dada always said, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Your story will always serve as a beautiful reminder to be patient, enjoy the process, embrace the unknown and always do your best.

33 years in the industry and I feel like you’ve only touched the surface of your potential. Mom, you’re my rockstar! All that I am is because of your unconditional support. Wishing you a Happy Mother’s Day! I love you dearly.
